Campfire Meetings offer a unique and informal setting for in-depth discussions on specific Powder Metallurgy topics. Relaxed, focused, and highly interactive, these 30-minute sessions encourage active participation, knowledge sharing, and the exchange of ideas among congress delegates.

Led by experts from both industry and academia, Campfire Meetings provide an excellent opportunity to explore emerging topics, discuss challenges and opportunities, and engage in meaningful conversations in a small-group format.

After the previous two Campfires on Women in PM, we will first highlight EPMA’s activities in this field.  This year we also invite men and women for an open and interactive discussion on how to attract and inspire the next generation and overcome barriers, as our industry faces increasing competition for talents.

Abstract:

This session will provide participants with a clear and practical introduction to European funding opportunities relevant to the powder metallurgy and advanced materials community, with a particular focus on Horizon Europe calls and Erasmus+ initiatives.

Drawing on EPMA’s long-standing experience in coordinating and supporting EU-funded actions, the presentation will outline how our association approaches the full project lifecycle, from identifying strategic topics and building strong, complementary consortia, to shaping competitive proposals and managing successful submissions.

Participants will gain insight into:

  • EPMA’s methodology for consortium development and project conception
  • Key roles and responsibilities within collaborative EU projects
  • Practical considerations for proposal preparation and submission
  • An overview of EPMA’s ongoing Horizon and Erasmus+ projects, illustrating concrete examples of impact, collaboration models, and thematic priorities

This campfire session is designed as an accessible entry point for organisations wishing to engage in European programmes for the first time, as well as for experienced partners seeking to better understand EPMA’s support mechanisms. It will be an opportunity to discover, ask questions, and dive into the world of EU-funded research, innovation, and training within our sector.
